All about Berlin...
I'm back with my travel in Berlin! & beforei forget, I was so overwhelmed by the Dunkin donuts & Starbucks! I'm such a caffiene addict that the sight of starbucks just got me so excited! haha ... & I couldn't wait any longer so i got myself a cup of latte the moment i reach the train station...=P
Day1
By the time we arrive at Berlin, it was around 6 plus .. then we took the S-bahn (Metro) to our hostel ... & I really like this hostel ... It looks new, clean & comfy! & for once it's true to pictures! =P Think i will leave a review for that hostel ... Anyway, after checking in, we asked the person at the hostel if he recommend any places nearby to have dinner ... We wanted to try authentic German food ... So he introduced us to 2 restaurants ... We chose one that was just round the corner about 1 street away from our hostel ... The place was packed ... So we end up having to share a table with this kinda old couple ... Ended up, they are are also tourist from Iowa, US ... They are really nice & chat with us ... So it din feel really weird sharing a table with them ... Anyway, we ordered mushroom soup, beef goulash, pork cutlet, pork knuckle & blood sausage ... Everything was good except for the blood sausage ... It tasted kinda weird & looks kinda ewww... =S But oh wells, it's indeed something different ... haha ..

We decided to join the free Berlin tour .. So we made our way down to brandenburg gate early in the morn ... It took us like 2 hours to walk there! but of coz in between we stopped to take pictures & have breakfast & all ... But that was a real good walk! So we joined the Berlin free tour ... & it lasted for about 3.5 hours including lunch ... It's good to join the tours coz the tour guide will tell us the history & all .. It's kinda interesting... But the bad thing bout the tour is you can't go at your own pace & take pics & all ... but it was well worth it coz the tour guide was really hilarious & entertaining ... Then after the tour, we went to do some souvenir shopping & we tried currywurst! (basically just sausage & curry powder) it's not too bad ... But not really that special ... But still, it's one of their local 'roadside' dish i guess .. & we went to this Peugeot showroom or something ... I dun exactly know wat it is coz the cars on display was kinda special (futuristic & vintage) but the cars is definitely not one you will see on the roads... we slowly made our way back to our hostel... So it means another good 1.5 - 2 hrs walk! The walking back was tiring coz we've alr walked so much & coz we din stop to take pics & all this time round ... & we wanted to go grab some dessert before heading back to hostel ... But this dessert place that i researched online before i went apparently was tear down! -_- so we walked there for nothing ... A gd thing is that it's near our hostel ... If not really make a waste trip down ... We were all so tired by the time we got back to our hostel ...

It's our last day today... We decided to just wake up for brunch, do a bit of shopping around our hostel area till it's time for us to head for the airport... & we had a different cuisine for brunch ... we had Lebanese food ... & we the Falefel (Fried chix pea ball), i know it sounds kinda weird & eww, but it tastes quite good! Then we also had something like chix kebab .. I had that .. It's really nice i would say .. but super huge! After our meal, we shopped at Schonhauser Allee & we walked to a mall somehow .... We shopped till bout 4 plus n we headed for the Schonefeld Airport... But the most annoying thing was the flight delayed by close to 1.5 hours! & we reached the airport early & the worse is there's nothing much to do or shop at the airport! How boring! & by the time we got back to Oslo, the T-bane(metro) has stop operation... We still manage to catch the last flytoget (airport express train) & had to take a cab back from Oslo S! Super sian ... Gotta pay for cab ... But oh wells, it beats slping at the airport after the long travel ..
I guess that's abt it for the whole trip ... I kinda feel happy that i'm back in Oslo coz it's like coming back to comfort zone ... But at the same time feel quite sian coz everything here is so expensive & there's books n sch to tink of! But i kinda enjoy sitting down in my room n slacking! =X But all in all, the trip was fun!

All about Prague ...
Alright everyone! As promised, the pictures are up! More will be up as soon as i get the time to do it! =P
On sunday morning we left Oslo for Prague! So excited about the trip coz i've always wanna go there... Heard from ppl that's it nice & pretty ... So i just couldn't wait to get there... It took us about 2hours to get there by plane & we reached there around 1+ pm ...
Day 1
We took a train to somewhere near our hostel & after checking in & putting down our stuff... We started our day... We decided to just walk around the area near our hostel...& we had KFC there! For once i was happy to be eating KFC! haha ... Nvr really a fan of KFC, but being able to eat KFC after being in Norway really makes me feel happy! =P We took some pictures,did a bit of shopping, went to Tesco, then we head back near our hostel to have some Authentic Czech Cuisine ... Not sure if it's really authentic but it's definitely their local food ... They like to eat bread dumplings, potato dumplings ... BUT, their dumplings are not like ours ... Their dumplings are like bread! It looks just like sliced baguette but taste slightly different ... & apparently their dishes consist of lotsa meat... On the first day, Karen & I had beef goulash ... & Toon ate some platter... The food was good! & we were happy with our meal coz we din hafta live like a refugee like we did in Norway! =P

Day 2
We will be covering the attractions ... But first we decided to cover the other side of Old Town Square before checking out the Old Town Square... So we were at the Mala Strana area... We went to the Prague Castle (din go in), to churches & many places to see see look look & take pictures ... & we decided to catch an Opera there! Nvr been to an Opera in my entire life! We walked from the mala strana side across Charles Bridge & to the Old Town Square area & to the theatre... The interior was really nice! The Opera was called Don Giovanni, although it was in Czech Language, there was english subtitles... so we could unerstand .. It's not too bad ... & we got the cheapest tix at student price... So it wasn't all that ex ... But the performers voice really power! The opera was kinda long, abt 3 hours... After that we had pizza & calzone before we went back to our hostel ...

Day 3
We didn't manage to finish going around the Old Town Square on our second day coz we need to go watch the Opera... So we continued with our sightseeing today ... & today is the day filled with coincidence! First we met Song Li & Tao Feng at the hostel we stayed in ... They are staying in the same hostel as us! & then when we were outside, we met Ivy, Letitia & their group! It's such a small small world! I mean in such a small place like Singapore we don't even meet! But we met our frriends in 2 different location in Prague! Goodness! & after meeting us... Ivy they all bumped into Song li & Tao Feng! & today we had Czech cuisine & their local dessert too! It's really nice! hehe .. Something different ... & for dinner we decided to have the 'roadside' stall's food! The burger n stuff .. It was good! hehe ...

Day 4
We set off early to have brunch before heading off to catch a train to Berlin at 12.30pm... But there was a slight delayed ... So we reached Berlin around 6pm ... The train was not too bad ...
Alright ... Guess that's about it for Prague .. Will try to post the pictures on facebook ... Need to hit my books & assignment soon! Had been so busy doing housekeeping! & looking at this post & my previous post... I tink i really live up to my motto! - "I live to eat & not eat to live!" haha ... Think i will continue blogging about Berlin tmr... Really need to do my assignment ... So stay tuned! =P

I'm back!
Alright... As you all can see that i've changed my blogskin! Wanted to do it before i leave for my trip but I have no time .. So finally sat down & do it today... Although this new skin might not be as cheerful as the previous one ... But I feel that at least this one suits my blog more ... Coz it's norway! haha ... Wanted to use the Copenhagen one coz it's nicer... But I figured this is still the best! So if there's any comment or feedback on improvement to the colours or wateva, pls feel free to tag me ... Then i will see what i can do...
It's kinda late now ... Don't think i will be posting my pics & details of my trip today ... Anyway I've yet to upload my pics... Most probably i will do it tmr! So do check back soon! =P

Mundane stuff ...
Let me do some updates for this week! hmmm ... Let's start with tue...
On tue we were all suppose to meet our profs who flew ALL the way from Singapore to meet us ... & the sweetest thing they did was brought all of us mooncake from Singapore! So nice of them... But we students were horrible! Only 5 outta so many ppl went for the session... Felt really guilty coz i'm one of the many ppl who din go... =X But anyway, really appreciate what the profs did ...
Hmmm ... Then thur, Toon, Victor, Kai Lun, Bing Zong, Brian, Karen & I had dinner together... We had laksa! Although it din turn out quite laksa, but i guess it doesn't taste that bad ... & anyway i guess it's the company that matters... Really fun to gather & talk rubbish ... & Bing Zong, STOP promoting your family ah ... haha ...
Our HUGE pot of laksa! & yest, karen & i made pancakes for brunch! It was really fun & i get the satisfaction from eating it coz i made it myself... I seriously think i'm here to learn to survive on my own n be a housewife rather than study! haha ... Everyday sure will tink of what to cook for dinner, what groceries to buy ... Bla bla bla ... So auntie! Gosh! Oh well, at least the good thing is i like to grocery shop ... So ya ...

Mid-Autumn Festival!
Yes! It's the mooncake festival! Time to eat mooncake! haha ... We had a mini gathering in Toon's room on 14th Sept to eat mooncake... All thanks to Victor's mum who sent the mooncake over! Didn't really expect to eat mooncake here! It tasted especially good! Dunno is it coz i'm overseas... But it just tasted exceptionally good even though it's the traditional kind... His mum even sent Pu-er over ... So thoughtful of her... & I dunno why i decided to bake quiche that night ... Maybe coz i've been wanting to bake & I found that recipe... So ya ... But kinda sad that it din turn out as good coz the mushrooms 'perspired'... So my quiche became wet n soggy ... =( Oh well, at least now I know ... Will make sure it's a success the next time ...
Eating mooncake that day make me kinda miss home ... Coz i know for sure my family & relatives will sure gather & eat mooncake & drink tea! & I won't be there ... Always love all these gathering that i have back home ... It's always happy hanging out with my cousins even if it's just sitting or lazing around doing nothing! haha ... Miss them so so much! I miss my Ah mais! =P
Oh well, but all in all... I enjoyed myself that night with the rest ... Coz i know i still have my friends here with me to 'celebrate' mid autumn festival! =)

Tea by the lake .. .
On fri, Lou, Karen, dada & i went to the lake for tea! We made our own tea & brought some bread n biscuits to the lake to haf a sorta 'picnic'... It's really nice to sit there n haf a cuppa tea n chit chat n at the same time taking in the beautiful sight! But the only bad thing is it's so so cold! We were adequately dressed ... So end up freezing! haha ... & at one point of time, a dog ran right thru the centre of our circle ( we were seated in a sorta circle) ... It gave me a shock man ... Lucky nothing spilled... Just a bit shock ... haha ... But overall it was nice ... Next time i will rem to put on more clothes ... =P
